On February 6, 2025 (KST), the Korea AI & System IC Innovation Center (K-ASIC) participated in the 2025 U.S.–China Semiconductor Industry and Market Seminar hosted by the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association (KSIA) in Seoul. The event brought together key stakeholders from government, industry, and finance to examine global semiconductor dynamics and Korea’s strategic positioning amid intensifying competition between the U.S. and China.
K-ASIC’s participation underscored its role as a strategic bridge between Korea and the United States, delivering on-the-ground insights from Silicon Valley to inform Korea’s semiconductor policy and industry direction.
Keynote: U.S. Semiconductor Trends and Strategic Implications
Austin Jin, Manager of Strategy & Planning at K-ASIC, delivered a keynote presentation outlining the current state and future trajectory of the U.S. semiconductor industry. The presentation focused on major policy developments, accelerating investment flows, and the restructuring of global supply chains driven by geopolitical and technological shifts.
In particular, the session highlighted the growing importance of aligning Korea’s semiconductor strategy with evolving U.S. policies, as well as the need for proactive adaptation to regulatory and market changes.
Strategic Priorities for Korean Fabless and System IC Companies
During the keynote, K-ASIC emphasized a set of strategic priorities aimed at strengthening the global competitiveness of Korean fabless and system semiconductor companies:
Enhancing enterprise-level R&D capabilities and production optimization
Enabling proactive supply chain risk management in a fragmented global environment
Addressing regulatory and policy challenges through cross-border collaboration
Preparing for rapid shifts in U.S. semiconductor policy and global market dynamics
Through these initiatives, K-ASIC continues to support Korean companies in navigating complexity and capturing opportunities in the global semiconductor ecosystem.
Strengthening Global Engagement and Industry Leadership
K-ASIC will continue to actively engage in both domestic and international forums, providing actionable insights, strategic foresight, and access to global networks. As the semiconductor industry undergoes structural transformation in the AI era, the Center remains committed to empowering Korean companies to lead and compete on a global stage.
